Our team works collaboratively to ensure that all students, including those with diverse learning needs, receive the support necessary to thrive in school and beyond.Position OverviewKuumba Academy is seeking a Contracted In-Person Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality, student-centered speech and language services to scholars in grades K-8. The SLP will partner with our teachers, families, and student support team to ensure that students with communication needs receive services that promote academic success, personal growth, and confidence.This contracted role offers flexibility while making a direct impact on the lives of our scholars.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide speech and language screenings, evaluations, and direct therapy for identified students in accordance with IEP goals.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support student growth in communication and academic participation.Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to ensure services are integrated into classroom learning.Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as required.Support the school's restorative and culturally responsive practices, ensuring that services are delivered with equity, compassion, and respect.Contribute to the Kuumba community by upholding and modeling the school's core values.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.Delaware state licensure and certification (or eligibility to obtain).ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; CFs may be considered.Prior experience working in a school-based setting strongly preferred.Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational mitment to equity, creativity, and culturally responsive practices.Why Join Kuumba?Values-Driven Culture: Be part of a school that integrates the Nguzo Saba core values into daily teaching and learning.Collaborative Community: Work alongside passionate educators dedicated to student success and family engagement.Impactful Work: Make a direct difference in the lives of children and families in Wilmington.Flexible Contracting: Opportunity to tailor service hours within the school schedule.Contract DetailsCompetitive contracted hourly rate ($95- $150/hour commensurate with experience).In-person services at Kuumba Academy Charter School.Flexible scheduling based on student caseload.Contract term: 2025-2026 school year, with potential for renewal.Job Type: ContractPay: $95.00 - $150.00 per hourWork Location: In person
