Certified Medical Assistant - Duke Orthopaedics Heritage Clinic Job Location:3000 Rogers Rd, Ste 330, Wake Forest, NC, 27587 Job Summary:We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified in our Duke Orthopaedics Heritage Clinic located in Wake Forest, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. Job Duties and Responsibilities:Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit information, and other clinical information as indicated.Clerical Duties- prepping clinics, obtaining test results, updating charts, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, coordinating referrals and appointmentsFulfills EOC Responsibilities- cleaning exam rooms, ordering and stocking supplies and restocking exam rooms, cleaning exam tables, maintain safe work environment by checking for expired supplies, medications, emptying sharps containersOrganizational Duties- promoting patient rights, responding to emergency codes, following HR, Compliance and Joint Commission policiesResponsibilities that vary according to state law, which include autoclaving, checking vital signs, suture removal, dressing changes, entering orders based on physician protocols, biohazard waste, blood drawing, applying DME to a patientResponsibilities that vary according to state law, which include autoclaving, checking vital signs, suture removal, dressing changes, entering orders based on physician protocols, biohazard waste, blood drawing, applying DME to a patientAs assigned by clinic leadership, develop the ability to remove cast, apply basic splints and cast to the upper and lower extremity.
