Academic Physicians - Neonatology Salary Range: $230,000-$280,000 per year The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Neonatology, is seeking full-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor.Appointees will provide direct patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital and at contracted off-site locations in both Illinois and Northwest Indiana. Appointees will also contribute to the broader mission of the Neonatology program, including teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity in basic, translational, or clinical research. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. These positions are benefits-eligible. The Section of Neonatology comprises 15 full-time faculty members and academic staff, who attend at the 71-bed unit in Comer Children's Hospital as well as two community hospitals to provide compassionate, evidence-based treatments in nurturing, family-centered environments with state-of-the-art equipment. In partnership with the Maternal-Fetal Service, the Section operates the University of Chicago Perinatal Network with more than 10 affiliated community hospitals. Neonatology has a fully accredited fellowship program (10 trainees) and a robust neonatal nurse practitioner program. Faculty within the Section are actively involved in research supported by federal and other extramural funds.Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the States of Illinois and Indiana, and 3) be Board certified or Board eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.We especially welcome applicants with recent experience in the intensive care of newborns.
