Job Quick Facts • Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery-NP/PA • Job Type: W2 Contract • Location: Stockton, CA • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Reason For Coverage: Supplemental • Coverage Period: ASAP - Ongoing • Coverage Type: Clinical + call • Shift Schedule: 5 days/week; 730a to 530p • Call Schedule: TBD • Ave. Callback Hrs Worked: 4 hrs • No. of Surgeries: 5 Ortho surgeries per day • No. of OR Cases: 3-4 per day • Patient Volume: Ave. 346 cases per month - 85 of that are ortho • Support Staff Available: Yes; TBD • Physicians in Practice: 6 ortho (including hand & feet), 3 gyn & 1 general if needed (when 0 ortho cases) • Other APPs in Practice: None • Case Mix: ORIFs, open and robotic assisted total joints (knee, hip, shoulder), arthroscopies (knee, shoulder and ankle), IM nailing, DHS, external fixation, amputation. • Duties: - Surgical assistance for orthopedics including closing and rounding on post op patients as needed. - Could assist with other specialties if there are no ortho cases. - The surgical assistance will be mainly for elective cases but there could be add-on cases that have come through the ED. - PA can follow-up on patients, however, it is the physicians responsibility to assess patients and sign off on documentation. • Required Procedures: - All orthopedic procedures including ORIFs, total joints (knees, hips and shoulders). Also, acetabular fractures required. • EMR: Cerner and PACS (eMedPortal) • Other Info: - No trauma since we are not a designated trauma center. • Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered Requirements: • Active CA License • BC • Local/No flights (highly preferred)
