Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our General Surgery team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care across various settings. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals while managing a diverse patient population.M-F schedule. Office-based.DutiesConduct comprehensive physical examinations and assessments of patients. Mainly in General and Vascular Surgery SpecialtiesDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.Perform diagnostic evaluations, including ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and imaging studies.Administer medications, including IV infusion, injections, and other treatments as necessary.Provide acute care management for patients with complex medical conditions.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in various settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and assisted living facilities.Educate patients and families on health management, disease prevention, and wellness strategies.Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance patient care practices.SkillsCandidates should possess a combination of the following skills:Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, eClinicalWorks.Experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or urgent care settings.Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and workers' compensation law.Clinical competencies including suturing, phlebotomy, IV insertion, catheterization, and airway management.Familiarity with specialized areas such as gastroenterology, geriatrics, pediatrics, infectious disease care, behavioral health, pain management, hospice & palliative medicine.Experience with esthetic procedures like botulinum toxin treatment and dermal fillers is a plus.Strong assessment skills for acute pain management and triage situations.Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including children and seniors; experience in home care or nursing home settings is advantageous.Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.Excellent communication skills for patient education and health coaching.
