Overview /n /n /n /n Join us in making a difference in the early detection of hearing loss in newborns as a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician!As a newborn hearing screen technician, you will provide hearing screens in the hospital after a baby is born. You will work on‐site at one or more hospital locations to screen newborns for hearing loss. At Pediatrix, you will receive on‐the‐job training. This includes annual certification accredited by the American Academy of Audiology. By offering this certification, we strive to ensure our employees are adept in improving early detection of hearing impairments and encouraging timely intervention. /n This is a part time position located at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID. Expected to be scheduled 3‐4 days a week, ideal candidate will be available Sunday‐Wednesday for 8am shifts./n Responsibilities /n On a typical day, you will conduct newborn hearing screens, usually in a new mom's hospital room, and help educate parents about the importance of the screen using video and printed tools we provide. You will also be in charge of entering patient data and validation of hearing screens, as needed. Additional responsibilities may include helping to confirm or reschedule outpatient appointments, following up on any equipment issues and training new staff. /n /nPerforming newborn hearing screens /nVerifying insurance information with parent/guardian /nDocumenting hearing screen results accurately /nFollowing protocol for timely submission of billing /nFollowing protocol related to security and identification of infants /nFollowing infection control, safety awareness and other hospital, company, and program policies /nRecognizing potential problems and obtaining assistance, when necessary, in a timely manner /nCompletion of company and hospital orientation or classes, including patient privacy training /nCompletion and maintenance of employee health requirements /nOther duties as assigned /n /n Qualifications /n /nExperience working with infants preferred /nExperience in a hospital setting preferred /nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills /nComputer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry /nAbility to prioritize daily tasks and assignments /nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team /nFlexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required /nAbility to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds /nAbility to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift) /nAbility to push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently /n /n /nMinimum Qualification/Education Level:High school diploma or general education degree (GED). /nPreferred Experience Years:Entry Level.
