Overview /n /n /n /n /n Responsibilities /n TheMedical Assistantperforms both clinical and administrative duties that directly support efficient clinic flow, effective and safe clinic operations, and excellent patient experience.The Medical Assistant supports patient care by taking medical histories, accurately capturing and documenting patient vital signs, requesting and updating patient medical records, filing communicating with patients, and providing documentation for patients or members of the healthcare team while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.The Medical Assistant's primary responsibilities may vary based on state regulations. /n /nGreet and escort patient to exam room, gather patient history, take and record vital signs, prepare patient for examination and document all information in patient medical record. /nSupport delivery of high‐quality patient experience through excellent customer service and communication with patients, families and other care providers while ensuring a safe patient care environment. /nProvide assistance to physician and/or advanced practice provider in preparing and conducting medical exams and office procedures under direct guidance and supervision of physician and advance practice provider. . /nPerform applicable medical procedures collect, and prepare laboratory specimens, administer injections/immunizations, and perform venipuncture, as allowed by state regulations. /nCommunicate information and instructions to patients as directed by physician, advanced practice provider, or nursing staff and ensure patient's understanding of the information. /nAssist with scheduling of tests, treatments, and follow‐up appointments, and communicate teste results to patients. /nEnsure exam rooms are clean and stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required. /nRespond to calls and requests for referrals and appointments, triage and process messages, and requestes from patients, clinic staff, referring physicians and pharmacies.
