The Deep Tech Architecture group is seeking a motivated Biological Systems Engineer / Scientist Intern to join our R&D team. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of cell biology and embedded sensing systems. As an intern, you will contribute to the development and integration of bioelectronic interfaces and advanced imaging technologies to study cellular behavior and bioelectrical activity. The internship emphasizes cell culture, data acquisition, signal and image processing, and analysis of biological systems, with potential applications in various fields including biomedical diagnostics . Responsibilities include one or more of the following: Design and conduct experiments involving microelectrode arrays for electrical recordings from cells. Support development and optimization of live-cell imaging workflows and features extraction. Perform and maintain cell culture experiments, including preparation, monitoring, and treatment of biological samples. Analyze biological datasets using statistical and computational tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, materials/chemical/mechanical engineers, and biologists, to integrate sensing platforms and data pipelines. Assist in prototyping and testing of bioelectronic devices and imaging systems tailored for cellular applications. Prepare comprehensive documentation and technical reports on project progress, methodologies, and outcomes. Qualifications Education: Ph.D. program in Bioengineering, Biomedical E ngineering , Neuroscience / Cardiology / Immunology , or related fields. Experience: Experience or coursework in at least two of the following categories: c ell biology, electrophysiology, biosensing, microscopy, flow cytometry, or data analysis. Hands-on experience with cell culture techniques is strongly preferred. Familiarity with imaging techniques of adherent cells and cells in suspension or flow is a strong plus. Experience in programming and analysis tools such as MATLAB, Python, and ImageJ. Basic understanding of signal and image processing and biological data acquisition systems .
