ADI's Quality Organization is seeking an experienced Failure Analysis Technician to help us understand and solve the root causes of customer returns as well as support qualification and new product introduction activities at our location in San Jose, CA. Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:Support and respond to internal and external customer requests for analyses of Maxim products. Especially,Sample preparationFA engineering support (optical inspections, x-ray, SEM)Meet ADI’s failure analysis cycle time and quality commitmentsProvide periodic updates on your analysesWe are seeking a technician who has experience performing the following.IC mechanical cross sectionsParallel lapping to expose inner layersDevice wet and dry chemical strip backsOptical, IR, and UV inspectionsFIB cross sectioningFIB STEM sample creationFIB circuit editingSEM inspectionsDevice decapsulationClear, concise, and professional documentation of resultsReballing WLP/BGA packagesSoldering and rework/deconstruction of PCBsMinimum Qualifications:3+ years of failure analysis experienceHigh school diploma or GED certificate required; AA or college training in EE, Mat. Sci, or related field preferred.Experience with SEM and FIBFor positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. As such, applicants for this position - except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) - may have to go through an export licensing review process.
