Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for full-time inpatient coverage to support leave coverage. This role involves autonomous practice within a surgical service, with physician oversight from the attending surgeon.Assignment DetailsCoverage Dates: ASAP with a 3-month minimum commitmentPractice Setting: Inpatient only (no clinic)Schedule: Variable; must be flexible for days, nights, evenings, and weekendsCall: Limited overnight emergency OR call from home (approximately 1 2 days per week, if any)Patient Population: Adult and geriatricService Census: Approximately patients; rounds on 3 5 patients per dayEMR: EpicCredentialing Timeframe: Approximately 1 monthResponsibilitiesInpatient rounding and coordination of carePre-operative physical examsDiagnose and treat illnessesOrder and interpret diagnostic testsWrite prescriptionsAssist in surgery, including intraoperative first assistingSuture removalRemoval of dialysis cathetersPractice StructureAPP works autonomouslySupervising surgeon available during assignmentRequirementsNP or PA with vascular and/or cardiac surgery experience and strong medical management backgroundNo new graduatesFull-time availability requiredActive and unrestricted New York state license at time of submissionNP must have RNFARequired certifications: BLS, ACLS, NCCPA (PA), or ANCC/AANP (NP)Self-Query NPDB report (pulled within the same month as submission)
