Work arrangement: on-site Hospital Administration Suite Role Summary The Program Manager for Support Services at Duke University Hospital will lead strategic initiatives in space planning, unit relocation, and operational efficiency. This role ensures compliance, safety, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to support patient care and organizational goals. Key Responsibilities Space Planning & Allocation Develop and maintain accurate space inventories, conduct audits, and support planning for new programs and relocations.Maintain space management databases, interpret architectural plans, and track move-add-change scenarios. Quality, Safety and Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with regulatory standards through establishment of standard work and adherence.Coordinate with safety teams for emergency preparedness and infection control. Collaboration & Communication Act as liaison between facilities, regulatory and engineering departments to organize all audits, inspections and tracer activities.Provide reports, maintain action plans and communicate follow up items for timely resolution. Unit Moves Oversee planning and execution of hospital unit moves, ensuring no disruption to patient care.Create detailed schedules for pre-move, move day, and post-move activities.Serve as the primary liaison for staff, patients, and external vendors regarding relocation plans.Implement strategies to maintain care standards during transitions.Supervise inventory, transport, and setup of medical equipment and technology systems.Ensure adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control regulations throughout the move.Identify and mitigate safety hazards in both old and new unit spaces.Organize orientation sessions for staff on new layouts, workflows, and emergency protocols. Continuous Improvement through DQS (Duke Quality System) Lead all DQS efforts in partnership with key leadership stakeholders to maintain appropriate daily huddles and communication cadences and score card metrics and targeted improvement efforts.Support all departments within the Support Services portfolio to solve problems to root and implement sustainable change.Monitor safety incidents and near misses within the SRS system for Support Services.Ensure accurate details are documented in the reporting system as well as immediate actions are taken to contain and mitigate harm.Communicate findings to staff, leadership, and patients as needed.Ensure corrective actions are taken and track incident data for trends and improvements.Share lessons learned to strengthen safety culture. Education Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. Experience Work requires the ability to plan and administer programs and direct program activities within a specific functional area, generally acquired through four years of related experience.
