The ideal candidate will provide patient-centered therapeutic interventions to improve functional independence, apply evidence-based practices, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care. Key Responsibilities:Patient Evaluation & Treatment Planning:Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive functions. Develop individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance. Regularly update the plan of care in coordination with physicians and team members. Implementation of Therapy & Supervision:Provide targeted therapy interventions, including therapeutic activities, modalities, and education, to facilitate patient recovery and functional improvements. Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. Patient & Family Education:Educate patients, families, and caregivers about diagnoses, prognosis, treatment rationale, and home programs to promote engagement and optimal outcomes. Assist in selecting and securing adaptive/supportive equipment as needed. Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate and timely documentation for billing and regulatory compliance. Record patient responses and modifications to treatment plans, ensuring HIPAA and organizational privacy standards are upheld. Collaborative & Community Engagement:Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences, care coordination, and community outreach initiatives. Represent our organization in community education and health promotion activities. Quality Improvement & Program Development:Contribute to process improvement initiatives, assist with program development, and promote the visibility of occupational therapy services within the community. Additional Responsibilities:Serve as a case manager for assigned patients, participate in staff training, and uphold the organization s core values of excellence, integrity, teamwork, and accountability. Qualifications:Bachelor's, Master s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.Current State of Michigan OT license and NBCOT certification.Minimum of 1 year of clinical outpatient therapy experience preferred.Strong understanding of adult and pediatric outpatient care practices.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities with a professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems. Physical & Mental Requirements:Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.Visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient assessment and communication.Ability to wear personal protective equipment and follow bloodborne pathogen and infection control protocols.Capable of managing stressful situations and working independently or collaboratively.
