Ref #: C-LPN-Contract/Travel LPN - Newport, VTStart: ASAPDuration: 17 weeksSchedule: 07:00 AM-07:30 PMRate: Travel: $1,649/36-hoursRequirementsValid, active LPN license for the state of practiceBLS certificationCore responsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic nursing procedures.Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.Administer medications and treatments accurately according to orders and protocols.Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for infection or complications.Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.Maintain accurate patient records of treatments, medications, and status changes.Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids and manage IV lines as appropriate.Provide urinary catheter care: insertion (if within scope), maintenance, and monitoring for complications.Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.Assist with patient comfort, positioning, mobility, and pain management.Respond to medical emergencies following protocol and provide basic life support as required.Follow infection control practices and PPE use.Handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies per regulations.Advocate for patient rights and needs.Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.Complete mandatory training and stay current with nursing standards.Other duties as assigned by management.
