Ref #: C-PT-Contract Physical Therapy opportunity in Northampton, MA - 13-week assignment starting ASAP. Full-time schedule: Sun-Sat, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. Rate: TBD.Requirements:Active, valid Physical Therapy license for the state of MassachusettsCurrent CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED)Role overview:Provide comprehensive, patient-centered physical therapy services across the continuum of care. Conduct thorough evaluations, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote patient recovery, function, and independence.Key responsibilities:Perform detailed physical assessments and review medical history to determine patient needs and goalsCreate and manage individualized treatment plans with measurable rehabilitation objectivesDeliver therapeutic exercise programs to restore strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordinationApply manual therapy (joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, stretching) to improve mobility and reduce painUse therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to support pain control and tissue healingInstruct and fit patients with assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and train safe useEducate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury preventionDevelop and adjust pain management strategies incorporating exercise, modalities, and manual techniquesSupport patients in regaining independence after surgery, injury, or illness, emphasizing functional outcomesProvide tailored home exercise programs and ensure continuity of careAccurately document evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and plan modificationsCommunicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team membersMaintain professional, ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and culturally sensitive carePerform other duties as assigned by managementIf you meet the licensing and certification requirements and are available for an immediate 13-week contract in Northampton, MA, please apply.
