Family medicine nurse practitioner opportunity at an inpatient behavioral health hospital in Alaska, caring for children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and substance-use disordersSpecialized programs for military populations, including first responders, service members, veterans, and their families7-on/7-off block schedule with 10-hour shifts; full-time, benefits-eligible roleInpatient-only setting with a focus on holistic, integrated medical and behavioral health careSignificant professional autonomy managing assessments, diagnostics, treatment plans, and follow-up careResponsibilities include initial medical admissions evaluations and H&Ps (within 24 hours of admission), follow-up visits, diagnostics, and discharge planning for patients ages 5+Close collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to create integrated treatment plans addressing both medical and mental health needsCo-management of patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providersPatient and family education on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle changes to support overall healthMedical consultations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and recommending treatments within scopeProvide emergency medical care within licensure scope until specialty care is availableActive or eligible Alaska NP/APRN license requiredGraduation from an accredited nurse practitioner programAANPCB board certification requiredMinimum 1 year of post-training inpatient or acute care experience preferred; behavioral health experience a plusOpportunities to build expertise working with diverse patient populations and complex medical/behavioral presentations
