JOB TITLE: X-Ray Technician (6-12 Month Contract Beginning January 2026) EMPLOYER: Progressive Spine & Orthopaedics SUMMARY: Serves as initial contact for all patients visiting the office. Also serves as the X-Ray Technician which duties include explaining procedures to patients, calibrating imaging equipment and preparing results. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Following instructions from Physicians regarding which area of the patients body needs imaging.Talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety.Correctly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position.Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient.Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding.Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs, and placing orders.Keeps x-ray area organized.Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.Performs other related duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology programActive New Jersey Radiologic Technologist license requiredARRT certification in Radiology (R.T.(R)) requiredA minimum of 2 years working experience in a healthcare facility as an x-ray or radiology technician preferred; however, not required.Current BLS/CPR certification preferredStrong knowledge of radiation safety infection control, and patient care protocolsExcellent verbal and written communication skills to share updates with patients and other medical staffSuperb customer service skills to provide ongoing support to patients and their familiesAbility to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levelsBilingual in English and Spanish a plusProfessional appearance and demeanor are always required GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:Behave in a professional manner and consistently demonstrate and promote the values of respect, honesty, and dignity for the patient, families, and all members of team.Be punctual with scheduled work and use time appropriately.Perform duties in a conscientious, cooperative manner.Perform required amount of work in a timely fashion with a minimum of errors.Maintain confidentiality and protect the Practice by abiding by laws and principles related to confidentiality; keeps information concerning Practice Operations, patients, and employees confidential.
