General Job DescriptionDogwood Industries, LLC is seeking a Safety Supervisor to ensure the company complies with health and safety laws. The Safety Supervisor works closely with the Director of Operations, Operations Manager, HR Team; and interacts daily with Project Team Leaders and employees on the floor. A successful Safety Supervisor will identify opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs needed, while managing the Safety Team. A successful Safety Supervisor will communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce and ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety. Duties & ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with leadership team to establish and maintain a strong safety culture at DogwoodDeep understanding of legal health and safety guidelineAbility to produce reports and develop relevant policiesGreat knowledge of data analysis and risk assessmentGuarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good practicesDevelops and maintains project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting recordsIdentify root causes and recommend corrective actions for accidents, near misses, and safety concernsAnalyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environmentAbility to complete and/or generate spreadsheet reports, Word documents, edit PDF documents, and manage e-mail communicationPerform routine safety inspections and safety self-audits o Oversee audits for additional facilitiesFacilitate workplace health and safety meetings and inspections with proper local, state and 3rd party agenciesPropose and execute company wide, safety improvements and initiativesIdentify trainings needed for the Safety Team membersConduct team meetings to discuss safety issues, updates, and action plansMotivate and mentor team members to enhance performanceComplete all necessary reportings (i.e. OSHA 300)Facilitate Safety Committee obligationsDevelop, implement and maintain emergency response plans and proceduresOther duties as assigned Requirements:Requirements5+ years as a safety representative in manufacturing or construction3+ years of experience as a Safety SupervisorExperience managing a teamFluent in the use of Word, Excel, and OutlookOSHA 30 certification or higherFirst Aid/CPR certificationExceptional communication and interpersonal abilities Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThis position requires moderate physical activity in a factory environment. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. The employee must be able to spend time standing on a factory floor and balance for extended periods of time; be able to sit at a desk to perform planning and administrative tasks; be able to move over and around obstacles and climb stairs; be able to lift up to 50 pounds of weight or pull and push material to receive and inspect the same. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. Compensation$41.00 - $45.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
