Job Description

The Nutrition Specialist will act as the primary point of contact for all visitors, ensuring a warm welcome and accurate entry into the computerized tracking system. This role supports the daily operations of the Nutrition Department by delivering outstanding service to visitors, clients, and staff. Key responsibilities include onboarding new participants, managing kitchen supplies, assisting with meal preparation and service, supporting nutrition-related programs, and completing monthly data entry for reporting to funding agency. Essential Job FunctionsEnsure smooth reception operation and seamless coverage for the department including proper welcome and check-in all visitors to the nutrition site and handling calls to phones and hotline.Ensure collection of updates registration forms, file maintenance, and data entry into CMIS, Excel, MySeniorCenter, and AgingIS, according to funded agency guidelines.Complete all required monthly reporting accurately with final check and submission occurring on or before established deadline.Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and supervisors to ensure efficient meal service operations including preparation, serving, distribution and cleanup.Ensure proper food handling in compliance with public health department standards including maintenance of logs and corresponding paperwork.Maintain inventory of food used in congregate dining program ensuring proper distribution of fresh food to participants.Assist with room setup and breakdown for dining room and programs.Manage dine out coupon distribution including registration, coupon sales, tracking and reporting.Serve as primary point of contact for My Senior Center program setup, robocalls, training, and troubleshooting.Provide staff coverage for off-site events including outreach, farmers market coupon distribution, programs, or other Township events.Monitor kitchen supplies and place orders as needed.Maintain the master information book, including flyers, menus, and program schedules.Provide coverage for other nutrition team members as required.Perform additional duties as assigned.
