Ref #: C-PT-Join a team in Monterey, CA as a contract Physical Therapist for a 14-week assignment starting ASAP. This position is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. Compensation is: Travel: $2,182/36-hours; Local: $2,149/36-hours.What we're looking forActive, valid Physical Therapy state license.Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (including AED).What you'll doYou'll evaluate and treat patients across a variety of diagnoses, working closely with the interdisciplinary team to promote recovery and independence. Typical responsibilities include:Perform comprehensive physical assessments, review medical histories, and coordinate with other clinicians to identify patient needs.Create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals for rehabilitation and functional improvement.Design and lead exercise programs to build strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.Use hands-on techniques-joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and manual stretching-to improve mobility and reduce pain.Apply therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold) to support pain control and tissue healing.Train patients in safe, effective use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs).Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, proper body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.Implement pain management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness, focusing on functional outcomes and quality of life.Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting plans of care as needed.Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.Provide customized home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery.Maintain accurate, timely patient records-assessments, treatments, progress notes, and any changes in condition.Adhere to ethical and legal standards, protect patient confidentiality, and obtain informed consent.Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adapt care to meet diverse patient backgrounds.Perform other duties as assigned by management.If you're a collaborative clinician who enjoys hands-on treatment and helping patients regain independence, this role in beautiful Monterey offers a structured schedule and competitive pay for the contract term.
