The Department of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Children’s Hospital is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a highly collaborative, team-based service providing inpatient consult-liaison psychiatric care to medically hospitalized children and adolescents. This role is ideal for a psychiatrist who enjoys complex, medically integrated cases, values academic engagement and team-based care, and seeks an intellectually rewarding position with manageable volume and strong institutional support.Typical patient presentations include: Psychiatric evaluation following suicide attempt or significant self-injury Psychiatric care requiring inpatient medical monitoring (IV meds, G-tubes, wound care) Eating disorders requiring medical stabilization Functional Neurological Symptom Disorder (FNSD) impacting safe discharge Trauma-related behavioral dysregulation or TBI-associated symptoms Chronic pain syndromes (e.g., CRPS) with functional impairment Medical nonadherence requiring inpatient intervention CNS-involved medical conditions contributing to psychiatric symptoms (e.g., autoimmune encephalitis) Avg patient volume is approximately 2–4 patients/dayKey Responsibilities Provide C-L psychiatric care to medically hospitalized pediatric patients Collaborate closely with hospitalists, subspecialists, nursing, social work, psychology, and case mgt Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows as part of the IUSoM academic mission Contribute to committees, program development, andimprovement initiatives Engage in scholarly activity as desired (research not required, but opportunitiesavailable) Schedule & Call Current schedule: M-F, approximately 8:30a– 4:30p Future opportunity: Potential transition to a 7-on / 7-off model that would include inpatient unit rounding on weekends Call: Low commitment (approximately 2 weekends every 6 months) Nighttime and overflow coverage supported by a designated team, supporting predictable end-of-day departures Ideal Candidate Profile MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) BC/BE in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Comfortable with in person, bedside psychiatric care in medically complex patients Interest in C-L psychiatry and interdisciplinary teamwork Willingness to teach / work with learners Compensation & Benefits Base salary: ~$281,200, with opportunity to approach $300,000+ total compensation Quality and academic incentives Internal moonlighting opportunities External moonlighting and locum work permitted with approval Comprehensive benefits package including: Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance 401(k) with employer match Occurrence-based malpractice coverage $5,000 CME allowance PTO Relocation assistance Physicians are protected from RVU pressure; higher-volume/wRVU-based modelsIndianapolis, Indiana, the 17th largest U.S. city, is a sophisticated city blending charm and culture with a wonderful balance of business and leisure.Residents of this dynamic city enjoy: Leading educational system and top-ranked universities, paired with a diverse population Vibrant downtown offering arts, theaters, world-class museums, zoo, concerts and memorials Named toU.S. News & World Report's2023-2024 list of the best places to live in the United States Top ranked international airport:" Best Airport in North America " twelve consecutive years Ranked by Niche in 2023 as one of the most diverse counties in America, as well as one of the best cities to live in and buy a house in the country Historic neighborhoods with surrounding cultural districts and low cost of living Outdoor recreation includes golfing, boating and unique parks Home of the Colts ( NFL ), Fever ( WNBA ), Pacers ( NBA ), Indians ( MiLB ), Indianapolis 500 ( IndyCar ) and the nation's largest half marathon Close proximity to Chicago, St. Louis ,Louisville ,and Cincinnati
