Under general supervision, this position operates a variety of light and heavy equipment to support street maintenance, tree care, snow removal, concrete work, and upkeep of City properties and green spaces. Responsibilities include completing daily work assignments, maintaining vehicles and equipment, ensuring job site safety, and occasionally leading small crews. Work is primarily outdoors and requires moderate to heavy physical labor. A high school diploma (or GED), construction and equipment operation experience, and a valid Illinois Class B CDL (Class A required after hire) are required.
