This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values consistency and standards, and is excited by events, collaborations, and special culinary projects beyond daily service. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef and leadership team to support day-to-day operations while also contributing to menu development, team mentorship, and special initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations, including service, prep, and events Uphold all health department regulations , food safety standards, and cleanliness protocols Maintain consistent execution of recipes, plating, and quality standards Lead by example during service in a high-volume environment Mentor, train, and support BOH team members to foster growth and accountability Assist in developing new menu items, specials, and event-specific offerings Help execute off-site events, pop-ups, collaborations, and special projects Monitor prep levels, waste, and organization to ensure efficient service Communicate clearly and professionally with FOH and management Step into leadership roles as needed to ensure smooth operations QualificationsPrior experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Line Cook ready to step up Experience in busy, service-driven restaurants Strong understanding of American cuisine and seasonal ingredients Proven ability to lead and mentor a team Solid organizational and time-management skills Calm, solutions-oriented mindset under pressure Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and event-driven schedules More detail about Five Acres part of Baxtrom Hospitality Group, please visit
