Training Specialist The Training Specialist is responsible for overseeing local training and learning processes, ensuring consistent standards, tools, and documentation. The role partners closely with Operations to ensure all training is effectively tracked, measured, and aligned with Operator and Trade Certification requirements. Core Responsibilities Content: Content Creation & Updating, (LMS, Controlled Documents, SharePoint) Learning Materials, events and Sessions Admin: Assist with Operations and Maintenance Training Creating, modifying, and communicating training calendars for employees who are training. Scheduling training meetings for employees and leaders for progress, board reviews through outlook. Updating master training book for all employees who are currently in training. Including qualifications and workflows. Updating metrics for employees who are currently in training. Maintain and edit training information for changes based on supervisor/manager changes, including who is responsible for what areas, and contact information. Maintain calendar resources for scheduling reviews with employees and leaders. Maintains record retention for training of employees including when to pull, store or discard records. (Both digital and physical) Assigns training in learning management system. Records and pulls reports out of learning management system to report out. Able to create service-now orders regarding new hires and system requests. Follows Labor guidelines for Maintenance Training Programs (Apprentice, Intermediate, Journey) Assists in performance review follow-up, including 90-day reviews and training reviews. Proctors written/computer tests for hiring and promotional moves Assists in creating Requisitions to pay for vendor-led training. (JDE) Understand trade specific training needs and inform schedulers and leadership on deficits. Communication: Communicate with leaders and employees on training changes, needs, and adjustments. Works with vendors for external training needs. Communicates with leaders on what external training needs may be and facilitates these trainings. Communicate with schedulers regarding training scheduling for internal/external training meetings. Communicates equipment certifications, timelines, and OSHA compliance. Communicates with maintenance superintendents/supervisors on maintenance required training. Follows appropriate meeting cadence for training, IE: Apprentice, progress, board reviews. Communicates with appropriate levels of management for changes in training needs, and trainee follow-up. IE: JMC, Operational meetings, etc. Communicates timelines of vendor led training, and records training budgets as required by leadership. Teaching and Training: Facilitates as needed for new recruits, trainees, and leadership, and training the trainers sessions (TTT) Sets up T3 for equipment certifiers in the mill, keeps track of timelines to update certifications. Assists with new hire orientation, facilitator selection, and training of employees as needed. Lead training update meetings with SME (Subject Matter Experts) to ensure updated training is in place, and tracks what has been updated and what needs to be updated.
