Major Gift Officer The position of Major Gift Officer will help to significantly expand the financial resources available to the Lubin School of Business and University in support of the priorities of the Dean and President. The department of Development and Alumni Relations utilizes a hybrid organizational structure, with core functions centralized; and frontline fundraisers representing Pace's academic units decentralized. This position reports to the Senior Director of Development, who in turn reports to the Associate Vice President for Development. Although this position reports to the Senior Director of Development, the Major Gifts Officer will also work closely with the Dean of the Lubin School of Business as well as its faculty. The Major Officer will manage a portfolio of approximately 150+ prospects and will be responsible for personally soliciting major gifts of $25,000 or more, and moving new prospects quickly through a pipeline for larger gift solicitations. They will collaborate closely with the University's central Development and Alumni Relations team. They will liaise with the central development team including Annual Fund, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Alumni Relations, Research, Donor Relations, and Donor Systems functions. Position Duties Cultivate, solicit, close and steward gifts of $25,000 and more from alumni and friends of the Lubin School of Business. Utilize currently existing and imagine and execute new opportunities for prospect engagement in the Lubin community. Build relationships with prominent faculty to ensure their student/alumni relationships are supported by the Lubin Development team and to involve them in the prospect cultivation process as warranted. Assist the Director of Development and Dean in the strategic management of the Lubin School of Business Advisory Board Work with the Senior Director of Development and the Development Events team to ensure the success of special events including the Lubin Presents, the school's signature alumni engagement event. Manage special projects and events in order to engage alumni and friends in development and outreach efforts. Work in collaboration with all offices and departments of the Lubin School of Business and Pace University to establish contacts and cultivate relationships with prospects. Produce carefully researched and well-crafted prospect and event briefings. Attend alumni meetings, reunions, and other special events as it relates to the development priorities of the school. Evening, weekend and some travel required. Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time. Work Hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed. Evening, weekend and some travel required. Requirements Bachelor's degree required. At least five years of relevant experience preferred. Personal solicitation experience is required. Proven ability to manage all stages of the donor pipeline, from cultivation to stewardship, resulting in significant financial support for the institution. Experience in a higher education setting is strongly preferred. Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally with the intended audience. Ability to professionally interact with all levels of students, staff, faculty and outside groups. Capacity to manage the competing priorities of external and internal stakeholders. Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with volunteer leadership. Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Sage Millennium or comparable fundraising database system. Ability to foster strong collaborative relationships at all levels of a complex organization and professionally interact with all levels of students, staff, and faculty.
