F&B Purchasing Agent- Banquets We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Purchasing Agent to manage the procurement of food products and supplies for our organization. This role is responsible for sourcing vendors, negotiating pricing and terms, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, along with hands-on experience in purchasing, inventory management, or kitchen operations. Duties and Responsibilities: Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms. Source, purchase, and maintain a diverse range of food products to meet organizational and customer needs. Monitor product quality, freshness, expiration dates, and overall condition of goods received. Manage inventory by analyzing usage, maintaining stock levels, and implementing inventory control practices. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and applicable regulations throughout the procurement process. Oversee shipment logistics, including scheduling deliveries, coordinating with drivers, and ensuring timely receipt of goods. Process purchase orders, verify invoices, and maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities. Stay informed of market trends, price fluctuations, and new product opportunities to support cost-effective purchasing decisions. Collaborate with operations, production, and finance teams to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals. Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with vendors and internal teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues related to pricing, quality, and delivery. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with purchasing or ERP systems. Ability to work collaboratively across departments to support operational and financial objectives. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a kitchen, inventory management role, or equivalent background. While performing the duties of this job's responsibilities, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Must safely move objects up to approximately 75 pounds about the workplace. Valid driver's license (or ability to obtain one). Serve Safe certification preferred.
