About the Company CPM Partners is seeking an experienced Assistant Construction Manager (ACM) / Office Engineer to provide comprehensive office-based construction management support services for a public infrastructure improvement project. About the Role This position will support the Construction Manager in contract administration, document control, RFI and submittal coordination, change management support, and general project controls documentation in accordance with public agency procedures. The position may require onsite presence at agency facilities, with potential temporary remote work during project mobilization. Occasional field visits may be required. Responsibilities Construction Administration Support Assist the CM with daily contract administration. Support pre-construction meetings and progress meetings. Prepare meeting agendas and detailed meeting minutes. Track contractor compliance with contract requirements. Maintain project correspondence logs. Document Control & Records Management Establish and maintain electronic and hard-copy project files. Maintain document control systems in accordance with agency procedures. Manage and update project logs (RFI, Submittal, Change Order, NCR, etc.). Ensure proper routing and approval tracking of project documentation. RFI & Submittal Coordination Log, track, and monitor RFIs for timely response. Coordinate submittal reviews with designers and stakeholders. Monitor review durations and escalate delays as needed. Ensure compliance with contract specifications prior to approval. Change Management Support Assist in preparation and tracking of change orders and contract modifications. Maintain change logs and cost tracking spreadsheets. Support cost analysis and documentation validation. Coordinate independent cost estimate reviews when directed. Assist with negotiation documentation. Pay Application Support Review contractor pay applications for completeness. Verify quantities and supporting documentation. Track payment progress against contract value. Assist with budget tracking and forecasting. Schedule Monitoring Support Assist in review of baseline and monthly CPM schedule updates. Track milestone compliance. Support schedule reporting and progress documentation. Agency Coordination Support Assist with compliance documentation related to permitting agencies. Track inspection and coordination requirements. Support documentation of inter-agency communication. Field Support (As Required) Conduct periodic field visits. Assist with documentation of field conditions. Support punch list development and project closeout documentation. Qualifications 510 years of construction management or public works experience. Experience supporting roadway, paving, drainage, utilities, or heavy civil infrastructure projects. Experience with public agency CM processes. Strong document control and contract administration skills. Proficiency in: Construction management software systems (e.g., Unifier, Procore, e-Builder, etc.) Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Skills Prior experience supporting public agency infrastructure projects. Familiarity with municipal permitting environments. Understanding of standard public works specifications.
