Job Description

Administrative Support Specialist Directly assists the commander/director in the management of all administrative support program functions. Administers programs and serves as the primary source of information. Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs. Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel flight on military and civilian personnel issues. Monitors personnel action requests, tracks personnel, manpower, and training transactions as documentation flows through the office and provides status reports to management. Assists in planning, administering and monitoring manpower resource requirements. Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization. Provides advice and guidance to staff in the organization on administrative, clerical, and procedural requirements. U.S. citizenship is required. If authorized, permanent change of station will be paid in accordance with joint travel regulations and air force regulations. Work may occasionally require travel away from normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. Base is located in a high cost of living area. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the office of personnel management (opm) qualification standards for general schedule positions, clerical and administrative support positions. Specialized experience: applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband nk-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade gs-04 or equivalent in the federal service. Specialized experience must include planning and organizing management programs and functions of an organization such as cybersecurity liaison (cl), government travel card (gtc), defense travel system (dts), drug demand reduction, health care, fitness, government purchase cards (gpc), safety, automated data processing equipment (adpe), security, supply, civilian timecard and unit recognition programs; assisting/supporting military and civilian personnel issues and manpower resource requirements; knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents; problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems; plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. Knowledge, skills and abilities (ksas): your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization. 2. knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. 3. knowledge of structure, programs and work methods of organization for personnel/manning issues. 4. skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems. 5. ability to gather, analyze, and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and possess the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. 6. ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization.
