Private Pay Billing Coordinator Private Pay Billing Coordinator -LC Part-time - Day shift, 24 to 40 hours bi-weekly Department: Finance Reports To: Finance-->Senior Billing Specialist Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Performs billing and collections for Landis Communities private pay residents. Responsible for census maintenance, write-offs, payment processing, A/R collections and follow-up. Provides back-up to the Senior Billing Specialist. Provides financial, administrative, and clerical support for the Finance department. Position Qualifications Associate's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent 2 years work experience helpful. Previous billing and collections experience in the long-term care field or equivalent work experience helpful. Basic knowledge of general ledger and accounting principles and practices required. Able to work independently, well-organized, and can multi-task. Proficient in use of computer and related technology required for the role. Good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills required. Position Essential Duties/Responsibilities Provides complete private billing for Steeple View Lofts, Landis Place on King and Welsh Mountain Home Completes payer verifications for new therapy residents. Compiles claim audits with assistance from the RNAC and Medical Records Maintains daily census changes for residential living residents. Works closely with Admissions to verify Medicare, managed care, and coinsurance benefits and with Social Services, RNAC's and others to determine coverage and benefits Sets up and maintains payer information for Residential Living residents. Generates, reviews, imports and posts charge batches. Reviews A/R aging, follows up on outstanding claims and submits appeals/reconsiderations as needed. Imports/posts cash payments Requests refunds from A/P for accounts with credit balances as needed. Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports in a timely manner. Serves as back-up to the Senior Billing Specialist Demonstrates dependability, competence, accuracy and is observant. Adheres to compliance policies regarding confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and resident and client rights. Complies with regulatory agency standards and applicable policies and procedures. Complies with safety and infection control protocols in all aspects of the job. Demonstrates understanding of the Code of Conduct and abides by its guidelines in all aspects of the job. Attends in-services and team meetings as required for role. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Position Working Conditions PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Daily walking, standing, sitting, talking and hearing in person and on phone, vision for close work and depth perception, using hands to feel or hold, maintaining balance, repetitive motion, keyboarding, bending, twisting, crouching, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
