Post-Award Grant Technician The part-time Post-Award Grant Technician, residing in the Dean's Office within the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine will provide support to the Post-Award Grant Coordinator. This position is required to process transactions and changes in accordance with faculty spending and the grant coordinator's needs. This position will foster teamwork and collaboration, with demonstrated organizational skills and high commitment to customer service and detail. The position reports to the Director of Budget and Finance. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Process financial transactions in accordance with university and sponsor guidelines. Support grant management activities, including tracking spending, ensuring compliance, and maintaining documentation. Perform transactional tasks such as labor redistributions, effort allocations, clearing encumbrances, and cost transfers/journal entries. Monitor low balances on grants and proactively address potential issues. Foster a collaborative and team-oriented environment, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and commitment to customer service. Apply financial expertise and organizational skills to ensure timely and accurate processing of financial activities. Maintain accurate records and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes. Required Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in financial management, accounting, or related administrative support. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively to manage multiple priorities. Experience generating documents and reports using various database and spreadsheet software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and financial database and warehouse systems such as Banner and MicroStrategy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate the desire to work in a financial research-oriented environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in grant or sponsored program administration. Familiarity with university financial systems and procedures. Excellent analytical skills.
