Job Title: Controls Engineer II Location: Bloomfield, CT 06002 (Hybrid 1 - 2 days onsite) Duration: 12+ Months Pay rate range: $58.00 - $62.50/hourJob Description: As a member of the Process and Controls Engineering Team, you will be an active contributor supporting the Clean Combustion Parts and Services business. You will support tender development and lead contract execution, working cross-functionally to develop control solutions based on customer needs and to solve complex problems across the Clean Combustion product line of utility and industrial boilers. This role requires teamwork as well as task leadership, acting with humility, transparency, focus, and inclusion. The role demands analytical thinking, decisiveness, and collaboration. Roles and Responsibilities: Identify, develop, evaluate, introduce, and manage engineering solutions for product control and control system technology needs. Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design and control systems with desired behaviors, including operability, boundary setting, cycle optimization, control logic, control-related software, sensors, hardware, software algorithms, and feedback mechanisms. Work autonomously on complex tasks. Develop complete hour estimates, schedules, and material lists for cost estimating based on engineering selections and customer requirements. Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline along with analytical thinking and technical experience to execute business strategy. Demonstrate understanding of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Codes, Burner Management Systems (BMS), and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Apply knowledge of best practices and understand how own area integrates with others. Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews. Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and tasks in compliance with engineering codes, policies, and procedures. Use judgment and propose solutions outside standard parameters to address complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and interdependent production cycles. Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues; may lead small, low-risk projects with limited resources. Domestic travel to customer sites ( Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Electrical Engineering or another engineering discipline.
