Description: Established in 1970, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, P.C. is one of the area's largest and most respected orthopedic specialty groups. In support of high-quality patient care, we are currently seeking an experienced Medical Administrative Assistant (MAA) to support our Physicians. The MEA will be required to travel to several of our suburban locations weekly. Fast paced and challenging, you will interact with our physicians, patients, and other departments to provide the highest level of care for our patients. The MAA's primary purpose is to provide administrative support to our physicians and create an exceptional experience for the patient. Functions of the job include, but may not be limited to:Scheduling office visits, ancillary testsHeavy surgical schedulingTriaging callsPre-certifying procedures and testsAnswering a heavy volume of telephone callsObtaining and/or verifying patient demographic information including health history and insurance informationChecking out patientsScanningEnsuring patient confidentialityWorking Epic queue'sRegular communication with clinical and administrative staffTravel between our various sites is requiredPlacing order, refill request Our ideal candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic, able to demonstrate a mature, dependable, and responsible approach while effectively assisting the physician's practice in all interactions, be a highly committed team player, a proactive self-starter, dependable, and able to be flexible in a changing environment. PM22 Requirements: Requirements of this position include, but may not be limited to:At least two- three years of experience in a medical/surgical officeExcellent computer skills, including Epic and working with Epic queuesSuperior written, oral communication, and customer service skills; able to communicate empatheticallyFamiliarity with medical terminology and codingStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational skills, detail oriented and able to prioritize and multi-taskAble to follow written and verbal directionsAbility to work collaboratively and efficiently within a teamAble to manage multiple phone lines simultaneouslyA valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between our office locations.
