For more information, visit SolomonEdwardsPosition Summary:We are seeking a Senior Manager-level Financial Crimes Audit and Regulatory Validation consultant with deep Canadian AML/ATF expertise. This role combines hands-on execution with oversight responsibility for testing quality, methodology consistency, and regulatory defensibility of testing and issue validation work performed by the team.The ideal candidate brings strong regulatory fluency, demonstrated experience managing or reviewing audit and validation workstreams, and the ability to elevate documentation quality to regulatory-ready standards. This role requires both leadership and direct engagement. Candidates may sit in Canada or the U.S., but must demonstrate substantial Canadian regulatory experience.Required Canadian Regulatory ExperienceExperience aligning programs to supervisory expectations from:· Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC).· Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI).· Department of Finance Canada - AML/ATF legislative developments/risk assessments.· Global Affairs Canada - Canadian sanctions regimes (UN Act, SEMA, JVCFOA).· Royal Canadian Mounted Police - financial intelligence referrals and FC3 coordination.Essential Duties:Oversight& Quality Assurance· Oversee and review testing work performed by Associates and other team members.· Perform detailed quality reviews of test scripts, workpapers, and issue validation documentation.· Ensure consistency, completeness, and defensibility of regulatory mapping.· Identify gaps in testing methodology and elevate standards where needed.· Provide coaching and technical direction to improve testing rigor.Technical& Execution Responsibilities· Lead regulatory mapping from Canadian AML/ATF laws and guidance to internal control libraries.· Review and challenge control design and operating effectiveness conclusions.· Validate remediation plans for sustainability and root cause resolution.· Engage directly in complex testing areas or high-risk reviews.· Support regulatory interactions and senior stakeholder briefings as needed.Qualifications:· 8-10+ years of Canadian AML/ATF audit, compliance testing, or issue validation experience.· Proven experience managing and leading a team of auditors, including work allocation, quality review, performance oversight, and mentorship.· Experience addressing or remediating FINTRAC and/or OSFI findings.· Demonstrated ability to operate at both a strategic oversight level and perform detailed, hands-on testing when required.· Strong documentation standards with experience preparing regulator-ready workpapers.Skills and Job-Specific Competencies:· CAMS or equivalent certification.· SQL and advanced Excel proficiency.· Trade Finance knowledge/experience.· Strong quality assurance capabilities and sound regulatory judgment.· Ability to balance oversight responsibilities with hands-on execution.Travel Requirements: No travel will be required, unless at the client's discretion.Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. As such, we take a comprehensive approach when determining compensation for our roles. The compensation for this specific role is based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to education, licensure and certifications, location, experience, and training.
