Job summary Job description/Responsibilities: PER-DIEM MUTIPLE SHIFTS PAY RANGE: $39.60 - $47.28 POSITION SUMMARY Under general supervision is responsible for assisting the dietitian in the following ways: updates RD binders, updates patient diet rands, collects and edits menus, visits patients for food preferences. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Collects menus from patients. Visits patients for food preferences. Explains diets to patients. Edits menus for accuracy. Updates diet rands daily. Conducts quality control monitoring as assigned. Checks diet list and trayline as needed. Demonstrates competence in contact with pediatric and elderly groups of patients relative to determining each patient's age-related and other physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs. Other Duties Files patient profile sheets. Answers phones to process calls and files as needed. Conducts quality control monitoring. Participates in test trays, temperature checks, and taste tests. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Lead Dietitian, Manager of Food and Nutrition Services, and Clinical Dietitians Required Qualification: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. California Safe Food Handlers card preferred. 2. High School graduate or equivalent preferred. 3. Minimum two years experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
