As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Generalist to manage the core human resources functions of our hospitality group. Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing the HR needs of multiple restaurant locations within the DC metropolitan area. This role requires experience with multi-unit HR management such as Recruiting & Onboarding, Employee Relations, Compensation & Compliance, Performance Management, Tax & Regulatory Compliance and Payroll & Benefits Support. This position works closely with operations leaders, managers, and the HR team to ensure consistent, complaint, and people-centered HR practices across all company locations. Key Responsibilities: Recruiting & Onboarding Serve as primary liaison for external recruiters Manage the ADP Recruiting platform, including job postings and applicant workflows Review resumes and conduct initial phone screens for salaried positions Send new hire invitations for all companies Create and issue Offer Letters Assist managers with outstanding onboarding tasks or missing documentation Employee Relations Conduct investigations and support issue resolution in partnership with leadership Support company culture initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders Administer Paid Family Leave (PFL) and Education Assistance policies Manage Workers' Compensation filings and related documentation Compensation & Compliance Manage hourly wage rates and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws Support salary compliance, including exempt/non-exempt classifications and pay practices Partner with leadership to ensure compensation practices align with company policy and legal requirements Performance Management Administer and manage the disciplinary action process & performance improvement process, including documentation and recordkeeping Coordinate and manage the annual performance review cycle Conduct and track salaried new hire performance reviews within established timelines Tax & Regulatory Compliance Respond to agency notices Ensure timely monthly and quarterly tax filings Manage garnishment notifications and coordination Payroll & Benefits Support Support Payroll & Benefits Specialist with running weekly payroll as needed Generate benefits eligibility reports Assist with follow-up related to employee eligibility for benefits, including 401(k) and insurance Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 3 - 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in hospitality, retail, or a multi-unit environment Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws (wage and hour, FMLA/PFL, workers' compensation, etc.) Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, including Recruiting, Onboarding, Payroll, and SmartCompliance Experience supporting payroll and benefits administration Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information with professionalism Ability to commute regularly to Downtown Washington, DC Preferred Skills: Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Experience supporting multi-state operations HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) Benefits: Salary range: $80,000 - $95,000 Health, dental, and vision insurance - Kaiser Permanente and Delta Dental & Vision Eligible after 30 days of employment 401(k) plan with a 4% company match Eligibility after 1 year of employment Unlimited PTO Employee discounts on food and beverages
