Senior Machinist Technician - 2nd Shift Location: Scottsdale, Arizona Type: Contract Job #86920 Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Machinist Technician - 2nd Shift position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ . In this role, you will work from basic drawings, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. To be considered, you will have a High School diploma or equivalent plus Technical certificate or 1 years of experience. Location: Scottsdale, AZ Position: Senior Machinist Technician - 2nd Shift Contract: 24 months or longer Pay: $ 27.86 /hour ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES: Utilizing your mechanical aptitude, the Senior Machinist Technician will work from basic drawings, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. You'll operate lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinding machines, duplicating, and profile machines, brakes and shears such as small lathes, power mills, extruding machines, drills or punch presses, power brakes, shears or saws. What you'll experience: Technologies that aren't just top-notch, they're often top-secret A team of bold thinkers committed to exploring what's next Opportunities to gain new knowledge - as it's discovered Duties and Tasks: Forms and shapes basic material May operate lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinding machines, duplicating, and profile machines, brakes and shears May operate light-duty bench or floor machine tools and equipment such as small lathes, power mills, extruding machines, drills or punch presses, power brakes, shears or saws Works from basic drawings, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions Sets up machines and makes adjustments, and performs maintenance on machines Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures Interfaces with employees and managers within the department Works under general supervision and instructions given for routine work, and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High School diploma or equivalent is required, plus Technical certificate or 1 years of experience.
