McGuire Air Force Base, aka Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) McGuire AFB, the common name of the McGuire unit of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), is a United States Air Force base located in Burlington County, New Jersey, approximately 15 miles from Trenton. It was consolidated with two adjoining US Army and Navy facilities to become part of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in October 2009 but remains commonly known by McGuire or McGuire AFB. McGuire is nestled in North Hanover Township in a wooded, rural/agricultural area, which is the least densely populated area in the state. McGuire AFB neighbors NYC, Philadelphia, and Atlantic City. Clinical Psychologist Duties & Responsibilities: 5-8 patients per day case load Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, the American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges. Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, administration, and interpretation of psychological testing/psychodiagnostics testing (e.g., cognitive and personality assessment), and collateral sources, as appropriate. Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders. Provide evidence-based psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries. Assist in the rehabilitation of patients. Maintain accurate and current notes in the electronic medical record. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D or Psy.D) in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited psychology program Internship: must have completed an APA-approved internship. No exceptions. Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed clinical psychologist Certifications: BLS required License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice Psychology in any state Security Clearance: Must have a clear background in order to pass the security clearance Familiar with the organization structure and operation methods of the Air Force Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills. Effectively use correct grammar and spelling in all written communications.
