Job description Our Media & Marketing Volunteer Program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in media, marketing, and social justice advocacy. As a volunteer, you’ll develop and implement marketing strategies to raise awareness about the societal impact of mass incarceration, police brutality, and housing discrimination, while supporting efforts to uplift directly-impacted communities. Program Objectives: Create and execute marketing plans to increase movement presence and awareness Expand product and service distribution channels Drive sales growth and customer engagement Enhance volunteer recruitment and retention Boost exposure, promotion, and funding for organizational programs Develop a marketing budget and apply for grant funding Positions Available (some roles will be combined): Social Media Marketing Manager Social Media Strategist Social Media Specialist Social Media Analyst Brand Manager / Public Relations Online Community Manager Influencer Relations Coordinator Blogging / Social Media Copywriter Film Editor IT Support Graphic Designer Program Structure: Volunteers will be with the organization for preferably 12 months, but 3-6 month internships are available. Initial onboarding lasts 2-3 weeks while we acclimate the volunteer to our organization and structures of operation. Qualifications/ Essential Skills: Experience in media, marketing, social justice, and/or nonprofit sectors Proficiency with marketing tools, social media platforms, and film production Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and project management skills Ability to conduct research, work independently, and collaborate with a team Enthusiasm for social justice and the mission to end mass incarceration Submit your resume and application via Google Form with “Media & Marketing Volunteer” in the subject line.
