Are you a proficient swimmer and enjoy the camp environment? Spruce Lake is looking for Lifeguards to join the summer team! Spruce Lake hosts a variety of guests each year, including church groups and individual/family retreats, as well as summer youth camps. A Lifeguard (LG) is responsible for high-level aquatic cleanliness and safety, Christ-centered service, and ensuring an enjoyable space for both summer youth programs and retreat center guests. Prerequisites: Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is evident in attitudes and actions. Must affirm, live, and model Spruce Lake mission, vision, statement of faith and core values. Conducts him/herself in a manner that is above reproach. Accountability: Lead Lifeguard (LLG) and Pool Manager (PM) Qualifications Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding First Aid/CPR/EAD (or equivalent) specifically for Deep Water (depths > 7 ft), or ability to complete certification prior to summer season. Demonstrate maturity and responsibility both on and off duty. Must be at least 15 years of age. Physical Requirements: Ability to meet and maintain physical requirements to pass the ARC lifeguard test. Participate in guard fitness training throughout the pool season. Must be able to lift or pull up to 100 lbs. (for victim extraction) and work in varied outdoor weather conditions. Must be able to climb to elevated guard stand. Spruce Lake Ministries, Pinebrook or Spruce Lake, does not currently hire anyone who is not authorized to work in the US, nor are we able to sponsor international employees or volunteers.
