For more information about the company visit Who You Are:The Risk Intern position is a 12-week program designed to introduce emerging professionals to the PEO industry and the world of Risk Management, Insurance, Claim Management, Compliance and Security & Privacy as a career opportunity. Our internship program was created to support the next generation of talent in finding meaningful professional development experiences within the industry. You will grow with the help of your direct manager, be exposed to different leadership, departments, and other interns, and create lasting connections.What You'll Do:1. Compliance and Training Support Attending Compliance Committee meetings Understand risk component of Compliance requirements across all departments Review and provide feedback on how clients & ExtensisHR may be affected. 2. Business Risk Client-Facing Activity Support Work on understanding RBAR & Underwriting process from Sales opportunity eligibility, sales closing to business acceptance, and then Client implementation. Partner with Business Risk team in client policy maintenance work from new policy additions, policy terminations, new job titles, and new locations.  3. Risk Services Client-Facing Activity Support Partner with Risk Services team to understand best practices for claims handling process for workers compensation & unemployment. Partner with Safety & Loss Control to gain insight on clients and their workplace safety needs.  4. Risk Compliance Management Activity Support Partner with Risk Compliance team to understand EPLI, Client & Vendor contracts, Sexual Harassment Training, and Cyber Security training.  5. Ad Hoc Projects, as needed. Preference given to projects which align with interns’ interests and career goals. Understand the importance of data integrity to decision making and costs to ExtensisHR and our Clients. Understand the impact of RISK to other departments. What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree or actively pursuing degree in Risk Management or Insurance or relevant field. 0-2 years of experience working in a professional setting. An interest in, or 0-2 years of experience working in, Risk Management or Insurance is preferred. Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams (or other collaboration platforms). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Problem solving capabilities necessary to accomplish the duties and tasks of the position. Excellent organizational and planning skills. Personable, able to comfortably and confidently interact with a variety of workstyles. Open to learning new information and constructive feedback. Physical Demands: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing desk-related tasks.  Prolonged use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse, requiring repetitive motion.  Ability to lift and carry office supplies or equipment up to 20 pounds.  Occasional bending, reaching, and twisting to retrieve files or supplies.  Ability to walk throughout the office, including moving between different departments or meeting rooms.  Ability to communicate effectively in person and via phone or video conferencing.  Ability to focus and maintain attention for long periods while working on various tasks.  Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.  Occasional travel may be required.  The work environment is typically quiet and climate-controlled, with standard office equipment available.  This role may be performed in a hybrid or remote setting, depending on business needs and employee accommodation.  What We Offer:With the support of the Director and Risk Team, intern is expected to complete/achieve the following at the end of the program: Create COIs for Clients Prepare W/C documents for a Client RBAR call and NEW STATE requests Report a new WC Injury and handle to conclusion Handle an Unemployment Claim Investigate an EPLI claim Shadow all components of Safety & Loss Control RMA  from start to finish as well as an onsite insection. Display increased comprehension of Risk Management activities and concepts at the conclusion of the internship and how they are utilized to minimize exposure to ExtensisHR and our Clients. Hourly rate of pay $16.00 Work hours are Tuesday - Thursday, 9:00 to 5:30 in ExtensisHR HQ in Iselin, NJ.
