Job Title: ControllerCompany: HEAL Wellness & Innovations Inc.Location: HybridJob Description:Heal Wellness & Innovations Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations across our new growingconsumer goods business. This role manages accounting, payroll, inventory,tax compliance, packaging cost accounting, and forecasting while supportingbroader administrative functions. The Controller will work closely withleadership to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and scalablesystems.Responsibilities:● Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR,cash flow, and month-end/year-end close.● Create control processes and accounting policies● Work with outsourced bookkeeping firm● Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP.● Support audits and external accounting reviews.● Manage inventory accounting, valuation, reconciliation, and cost ofgoods sold (COGS).● Track packaging, manufacturing, freight, and landed costs.● Implement controls to reduce shrinkage and improve inventoryaccuracy.● Partner with operations and supply chain teams on inventory planningand forecasting.● Oversee payroll processing and compliance with federal, state, andlocal regulations.● Support general company administrative and financial operations asneeded.● Maintain employee compensation records and payroll reporting.● Prepare and file sales tax, payroll tax, and business tax returns.● Ensure compliance across multi-state and local jurisdictions whereapplicable.● Coordinate with external CPAs and tax advisors● Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and budgets.● Provide variance analysis and actionable financial insights toleadership.● Build financial models to support pricing, product launches, and growthinitiatives.● Manage full-cycle payroll processing for all employees.● Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.● Maintain accurate records and resolve payroll inquiries.● Prepare and file necessary tax returns (e.g., quarterly, annual).● Ensure compliance with all tax reporting requirements.● Work with external accountants/auditors during tax season and audits.● Oversee inventory tracking, reconciliation, and valuation.● Implement controls to mitigate loss and optimize inventory levels.● Coordinate with operations teams on inventory forecasting andplanning.● Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts.● Provide variance analysis and insights on financial performance.● Support budgeting processes and long-term financial planning.Qualifications:● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.● Minimum of 5 years of accounting and financial managementexperience.● Proven experience with payroll systems, tax filings, forecasting, andinventory accounting.● Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.● Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Preferred:● CPA or equivalent certification.● Experience in the wellness, retail, or CPG industries.Compensation:● Based on qualifications and experienceWork Structure:● Part Time / Contractor Basis● Weekends, Holidays, Evenings as neededWhy Heal Wellness Innovations?Heal Wellness Innovations is a forward-thinking company committed toadvancing wellness solutions.
