Job Description

To inspire individual creativity and artistic expression through workshops in Italy, cultural exchange, and appreciation of the arts. Project or position: Grantwriting Volunteer As the Grantwriting Volunteer, you will be researching, drafting, and compiling grants for La Romita. Here are some common tasks you’d be expected to perform: Research: Research project and general operating grants that would be relevant to La Romita and its mission. Drafting Proposals: Create and edit the written grant narrative reflecting the organization and its programs. Editing and Submitting the Application: Manage the grant requirements and formats to ensure compliance. Reporting: Follow up with reporting requirements of awarded grants. Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with other individuals, such as the Director and Board Members, to coordinate grant writing efforts with overall organizational goals and campaigns. Creativity and Innovation: Brainstorming and pitching new ideas for grants and projects that would support the fundraising goals. Learning and Development: Taking advantage of opportunities for learning and professional development in the field of grant writing, including attending webinars, workshops, and industry conferences. Skills required: Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision, and interact with La Romita’s website following in a manner consistent with our Tone, Values, and Mission. Setting: Work from anywhere with an internet connection. Schedule and time commitment: This position will be a permanent part of LRSA team. Time commitment is approximately 5 hours a month, including a 30-minute meeting per week. Training: Orientation on La Romita’s communications strategy and training on La Romita’s specific tools will be provided. Supervision: This position reports to the Director of La Romita, but will also work with others in the organization. Other: This is an unpaid position. However, volunteers are welcome to visit La Romita in Italy at a time approved by the Director. La Romita does not discriminate.
