General Definition of Work Performs all duties and tasks to support the work of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction and the entire department. Priorities include managing business-related tasks for the department including work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction. Reports to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Salary Range (determined by education/experience) NC-08 $3,071.00-$4,906.00/monthly-(12 month employment) Essential Functions Maintain confidentiality Prepare reports, memos, financial statements, schedules, official notices, presentations, and other materials from rough drafts, copies, marginal notes, digital recordings, or verbal instruction Maintain calendar and appointments for Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Check and review a variety of data for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to establish standards and procedures Disseminate information on a variety of curriculum and operational issues Prepare and maintain budgets while adhering to SCS finance policies and procedures for a number of funds and accounts Maintain records and generate reports pertaining to department program of specialized activity Answer phones, relay messages, and provide various information to principals, assistant principals, teachers, support staff, central office administrators, media, parents, and the general public Prepare for meetings, professional development sessions, and other department events Record, publish, and disseminate minutes for meetings Make arithmetical calculations, requisition supplies, and materials Maintain mailing lists, files, and indexes Utilize a variety of technology to enhance communication and maintain an efficient working environment Provide administrative support Work with Directors and other school leaders to plan and facilitate a variety of county-wide events. Perform related tasks as required by the Assistant Superintendent of C&I Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge and experience with the entire Microsoft Suite including Word/Office, Excel, and Access Advanced-level use of tables, spreadsheets, and publishing formats Ability to utilize both Mac and PC technologies Thorough knowledge and experience with all Google tools Knowledge of or willingness to learn how to use Canva for creating documents, brochures, or flyers. Professional-level verbal and written communication skills Ability to problem-solve and make decisions as necessary Ability to manage large projects through all phases - planning/implementation/evaluation Ability to meet all deadlines in a fast-paced environment by organizing and prioritizing tasks Education and Experience Two-year Associate Degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience Successful experience as an executive assistant, office manager, or other relevant administrative support experience Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force. Work regularly requires speaking or hearing; frequently requires standing, walking, and sitting; and occasionally requires stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, lifting and repetitive motion, and using hands to finger, handle, and or feel. Work has standard vision requirements. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas utilizing the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
