Volunteer Position: Time to Read & Tutoring Program Organization: Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills Position Summary We are seeking enthusiastic and dependable volunteers to support our Time to Read and Tutoring Program, designed to help elementary students strengthen their reading skills, complete homework, and achieve greater academic success. Many of our students are reading below grade level, and consistent support from caring volunteers can make a significant difference in their educational journey. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one or small group reading tutoring to elementary students. Assist students with homework assignments and academic skills development. Encourage positive learning habits and build student confidence. Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent and effective support. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating patience, encouragement, and respect. Minimum Requirements Commitment of at least 1 hour per week. Availability during afterschool hours, Monday through Thursday. Strong desire to help children succeed in reading and academics. Dependability, patience, and strong communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience tutoring, teaching, or mentoring children (not required). Ability to engage students with supportive and creative learning strategies.
