Summary: Responsible for planning, preparing, and serving snacks and meals for participants in compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and all applicable state and Health Department regulations. This position will also assist program participants with all daily activities including assisting participants on and off the bus, transferring to and from chairs and wheelchairs, and assisting with toilet needs. Essential Duties: Aide Responsibilities: Assist other professional staff members as required in implementing and carrying out services and activities and meeting the needs of individual participants. Open and close the center; making it ready for daily activities, as needed. Perform daily routine cleaning at the center (sweeping, mopping, cleaning the kitchen, and taking out the garbage). Provide attendant care services to clients in homes (as assigned) including but not limited to light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation to physician appointments, grocery store, etc. Record all attendant care activities within the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) software as required by the Department of Aging and Independent Living. Assist participants on and off the bus. Transfer participants from chairs to wheelchairs. Assist participant with toilet needs (lift participant onto the commode, change adult undergarments, and other such needs). Promote and engage participants in exercise, games, crafts, and other social activities. Food & Nutrition Specialist Responsibilities: Prepare weekly meals that reflect all USDA and Health Department requirements. Assist participants with snacks and meals (opening containers, cutting food, etc.) Ensure menus are approved and documented in accordance with CACFP guidelines. Maintain organized and up-to-date food program records, accurate daily meal counts, and attendance records for CACFP reimbursement. Know any food allergies and provide substitute food items for affected participants. Make weekly food orders with vendors. Organize and put away all groceries, food orders, and non-food orders. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areas. Wash, rinse, and sanitize all dishes. Participate in CACFP monitoring reviews and audits. Participate and remain current with all CACFP and other training requirements as required. All other Responsibilities: Participate in CPR, First Aid and other training as required. Answer the phone and handle telephone messages. Protect the privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to participants. Be responsible for patient attendance sheets and some daily record keeping. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Education, Experience & Training: High School diploma or GED required. Experience working with the elderly preferred. Experience with Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) preferred. Kentucky Food Handlers Certification required. The employee is frequently required to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and push/pull/exert force up to 150 pounds. Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license and the flexibility and willingness to change schedules and duties as needed according to staff availability. Must be willing to travel the service area as needed. Travel is primarily local or within the service area during the business day. TB test is required.
