Unit Notes - Unit: OR - # suites: 7 OR suites - # of cases per day: 15-20 cases per day - Certs/Tech certified: Techs and RN's must have BLS - EMR: Cerner Surginet - Charge Nurse: yes but not 24/7 - OR techs: yes - Weekend Requirement - RN's: one weekend of call per month - Weekend Requirement - CST's: one weekend of call per month - Call Requirement - RN's: 1 call night per week - Call Requirement - CST's: 1 call night per week - What is call response time: 30 min - Holidays: will only have to work holidays in emergencies - Scrub Color/ Provided: provided - Tele: Phillips - Surgeon on call hours: on call 24/7 - IV Team: No - RT 24/7: yes - Pharmacy 24/7: No - use marian for after hours after 10pm - Shifts: 8 hr shifts with variable start times, manager makes out schedule - Floating: No - Floor specific orientation: depends on skillset - Common types of cases: high volume of ortho including total joints, general, gyn, peds, eyes (do not need experience) they also do cardiac but travelers will not be put in on these cases - cardiac cases include open heart, carotid endarectomies, TAVR's, etc. - Scrubbing required - RN's: scrubbing is only preferred for RN's - Additional Notes: 2 years of OR experience is required, travel experience is preferred Sterile Processing Info - - Certifications: sterile processing tech must have BLS and be certified through IAHCSMM - Equipment Used : autoclave - Steris & V-pro
