OPEN UNTIL FILLEDCompensation: $22.87 per Hour Responsible for numerous maintenance activities including but not limited to: GROUNDS MAINTENANCE:Primary responsibility is to maintain the highway department grounds to a high maintenance standard. Specific tasks include:Mowing of highway department lawns on a weekly or twice weekly basis, including trimming and edging Irrigation of Highway Department grounds Fertilizing and chemical weed control of lawn and trees Daily inspection of Highway Department grounds for trash pickup; Weeding flower beds on weekly basis Sweeping sidewalks and parking lots Touchup painting Other related activities SHOP MAINTENANCE:Perform general cleaning of all County Highway Shop spaces and vehicles as directed Perform daily inspection of the County Admin vehicle and wash/vacuum as required Pick up parts from various area vendors as directed Perform vehicle maintenance activities and maintenance of shop equipment MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE NEEDEDMust possess a valid driver’s license Minimum six months’ experience in lawn and grounds maintenance activities and the ability to operate various lawn and grounds maintenance equipment Ability to operate hot water power washer Ability to perform manual cleaning and maintenance activities Position requires prolonged standing, lifting up to 70 pounds, frequent bending, stooping and stretching DESIRED/PREFERRED Class A driver’s license; similar related experience.
