Job Title: Cable TechnicianLocation: New York City, NY Pay rate: $24 -$28 Scope of work: Looking for mid to high level cable technicians to be trained on how to do Central Office work. Majority of the work will be in NYC, but must travel as needed. Travel info: Must use own vehicle .45 per mile (only gets mileage from home to site, site to site, site to home) (not hotel to site if staying overnight in a hotel) $125 a day per diem and tech books own hotel (must provide receipts for hotel to prove staying overnight somewhere) Central office SOW: Perform cable lacing and stitching on telecom racks and frames to maintain clean, structured cable management. Execute crimping and terminating of low-voltage copper and fiber optic cables. Install, route, and secure backbone and distribution cabling in central office environments. Dress, bundle, and label cables according to telecom industry standards. Install and maintain relay racks, ladder racks, and cable tray systems. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and cable run lists. Ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards. Maintain clean and organized work areas in live telecom facilities.
