Job Overview: As a Trailer Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on UPS Transportation Trailers and Converter Dollies. You will diagnose and execute repairs on non-power equipment, including air brake systems and electrical systems. We Are Looking For Candidates Who Have: Documented experience as a trailer mechanic. Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers. A full set of personal hand tools. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with D.O.T. requirements. Regularly bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, stand, walk, and pivot throughout the workday. Maintain regular and punctual attendance and fulfill your scheduled work hours consistently. Be available for varying shifts, additional hours, and overtime based on service needs. Occasionally sit during the workday as required. Lift, lower, push, pull, leverage, and handle equipment/packages weighing up to 70 pounds. Assist in moving packages or equipment weighing up to 150 pounds. Perform tasks requiring hand motion, including simple grasping and fine manipulation, while reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary. Operate both standard and manual transmissions. Utilize power and pneumatic tools effectively. Adhere to personal protective equipment guidelines. Work in an environment with varying temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, noise, and outdoor weather conditions. Communicate effectively to perform assigned tasks and maintain safety protocols. The starting pay for this position is $28.90 per hour. For union-represented positions, wage rates and benefits are determined by collective bargaining agreements.
