Position Summary: We are looking to employ a knowledgeable and experienced Product Specialist to assist customers in selecting suitable cannabis products. The responsibilities of the Product Specialist include greeting and welcoming customers, informing the manager of customer complaints and operational issues, and sharing firsthand experiences of cannabis products to address customer concerns. Product Specialists should also be able to answer customers' questions regarding the different strains of cannabis, their medicinal uses, and methods of consumption. Successful Product Specialists should stay apprised of the latest developments in cannabis laws to maintain legal compliance. Ultimately, an outstanding Product Specialist should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills by ensuring that customers are well-informed and satisfied with their purchases. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Advising customers on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains and terpenes of cannabis Keeping up on new cannabis products on the market as well as the latest industry trends through Learn Brands and personal research Checking patients' identification documents and medical ID to verify their allotment is not over-extended Processing patients' payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system Correctly ringing in and double checking the items as they go into the bag Verbally verifying the receipt with the patient Educating customers on the safe use of their selected cannabis products Taking inventory of cannabis products and ensuring that the sales floor is adequately stocked Ensuring that the dispensary and surrounding property is clean and well-organized at all times Additional duties as required Requirements: At least 21 years of age and ability to pass a background check Have the ability to maintain focus in an active environment Ability to regularly stand, sit, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods Accurate and robust data-entry and record-keeping skills for all POS transactions Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Thorough understanding of state and local medical marijuana laws and how they apply to the operation Thorough understanding of marijuana, its effects, and medical uses Experience in a sales or retail environment is preferred Proficiency in point of sale (POS) applications is preferred Cash handling experience preferred Superior customer service and time management skills Solid mathematical skills to stay within state regulations Ability to obtain and maintain a NJ CRC Card Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers/scanners. Physical Demands: This is an active role. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have the ability to regularly stand, sit, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods of time.
