Job Details Location: Great Falls, MT 59405 - Montana nursing jobs / Great Falls healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) - 10-bed unit within a 36-bed hospital Position: Registered Nurse (RN), Cardiac ICU Nurse / Critical Care RN Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse, Critical Care) Start Date: March 4, 2026 End Date: June 3, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights - night shift RN Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250-$2,370 per week Qualifications / Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN/BSN) Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Minimum 1 year recent critical care experience; CVICU or open heart recovery experience strongly preferred Clinical proficiency with central lines, chest tubes, arterial lines (A-lines), multiple IVs, and ventilator/short-term ventilation support Strong patient assessment, clinical leadership, critical care decision-making, and communication skills Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care for post-operative open heart and critically ill cardiac patients from admission through discharge Monitor, assess, and intervene for complex cardiac and medical conditions using cardiac telemetry and advanced monitoring Manage invasive lines, chest tubes, and mechanical ventilation/airway support as needed Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers, charge nurses, and the ICU director to optimize patient outcomes Precept, mentor, and provide direction to nursing staff, LPNs, CNAs, and support personnel Participate in discharge planning, patient and family education, and continuity of care for cardiac patients Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols Why Join Our Team Work in a focused 10-bed CVICU with a supportive critical care team - excellent for cardiac ICU and CVICU RNs Opportunity for professional growth, skills refinement in open heart recovery and critical care nursing Enjoy Great Falls, MT - outdoor recreation, welcoming community, and Montana healthcare lifestyle Travel nurse opportunity ideal for clinicians seeking short-term contracts and diverse clinical experiences Ready to apply?
